For Graduate Students

Graduate student tutoring is now available through the University Writing Center!

The Graduate Writing Consultant can work with students from all disciplines, so don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment! Tutoring is available in Fall and Spring both in-person at the UWC and virtually. In tutoring sessions, students will receive one-on-one writing support on any stage of the writing process and will engage in in discussion about effective writing strategies. The Graduate Writing Consultant’s goal is not to replace your ideas, but to honor yours and help you express them with intention. This is not an editing service.  Instead, we want to engage you in discussion about ways you can recognize certain writing patterns and revise to be as clear as possible.

Come see the Graduate Writing Consultant:

  • To get feedback on a writing assignment class
  • To help get started on fellowship application statements
  • To brainstorm writing strategies for larger writing projects
  • To develop your professional CV and/or letters of intent
  • To review grant applications for clarity
  • To receive support on your dissertation writing
  • Any other writing-related projects!

You may schedule an appointment using MyWCOnline. When you schedule your appointment, you may choose virtual/eTutoring or a Face-to-Face appointment (the appointment mode is listed under the tutor’s name).
